Become a referral organisation
Our referral partners issue food bank vouchers to people in need of support.
We work with local organisations to identify the people in our community who need emergency food. Referrals are vital to our work and help people access our services, as well as ensuring they have wider support to address the root causes of hardship in their lives.
Food vouchers
We operate a voucher model, which means people need to be referred for a food voucher before they can access our service. Vouchers are distributed and verified by referral partners.
As part of this process, partners should also ensure that appropriate support to overcome the drivers of hardship is in place. We offer further signposting and support to ensure people have access to relevant services and organisations to help them change the circumstances that led to hunger, and break cycles of poverty.
If your organisation supports people who find themselves in need of emergency food, you could become a referral partner.
How to become a referral organisation
If your organisation works directly with individuals or families in the area covered by the Gorleston Foodbank, you can request to become a referral partner. This will enable you to use the Trussell online referral system to make food bank referrals for people in crisis.Â
If you would like to become a referral partner please contact agencies@gorleston.foodbank.org.uk or ring us on 0800 246 5571.Â
If your organisation is not yet registered with us, you will need to complete a registration form and data-sharing agreement which we will send you once you've contacted us.Â
If you and your organisation are registered with a different Trussell food bank you can still use the Trussell system to make referrals to our food bank and don't need to register again.
